Q: Can I run nVeil in Windows?
A: No. See System Requirements
Q: Drawing a veil, do we use stroke or fill values?
A: No, though nVeil ignores them, only recognizes paths (that form
closed areas...cells). However, stroke weight allows a veil to be seen in
browsers such as Firefox, but can cause a narrow edge band to appear, so keep stroke to a minimum.
Q: How do I create a veil that leaves a portion of the field
unprocessed, the original image?
A: Allow the cell(s) in question to touch an edge of the artboard where there is no boundary path, if only with a 1-pixel-wide connecting "alley". Then be sure " Add SVG Bounds" is
unchecked so the perimeter stays broken where you want the cell(s) to break free. Then select from background "pass-through", or, to black-matte the cell(s) instead, select "matte". Or select "projected" to apply a blur the cell(s)
Q: Why are enclosed areas in a text character "clogged" looking?
A: Character "counters", such as the center of an "O", usually have a cell center that is too different from the cell that surrounds the
character. To make them alike, open a 1-pixel connecting "alley" linking
the counter with the cell surrounding the character (see previous answer)
Q: How do I save my veil?
A: View
How To Save A Veil for instructions.
Q: Why does my "bullseye"veil not show up in FC?
A: Any veil that has concentric cells, whether circles, rectangles or other shape will not render because each concentric cell has the same center, so the source image in each cell is the same. Vary those centers!
